How do I add a metadata filter to a report?

You can add a metadata filter to a report in Spotler FeedbackPro in one of two ways, depending on the type of report. For a standard, automatically generated report, you add the filter through the Survey Builder. For a customized report, you add the filter through Reporting.

On this page, the following topics are covered:

Which route applies to your report

Which method you use depends on the type of report:

  • Is it a standard, automatically generated report? Add the filter through the Survey Builder.
  • Is it a customized report, meaning a report you have made changes to yourself? Add the filter through Reporting.

Add a metadata filter to a standard generated report

  1. Go to Surveys.
  2. Select the relevant survey and click Edit survey.
  3. Click Next twice, until you reach the page showing Type of Report at the top.
  4. This page shows which reports are currently enabled and automatically generated.
  5. For the report you want, click the gear icon and select the additional metadata field you want to add.
  6. Click Finish survey. A new version of the standard report is generated, including the new metadata field.

Add a metadata filter to a customized report

Adding a metadata filter to a report you have made changes to yourself works differently than for a standard report.

  1. Go to Reporting and select the report you want.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the pencil icon (Edit dashboard).
  3. In the top-right corner, click the funnel icon.
  4. Choose Text or category.
  5. Give the filter a name.
  6. Connect all cards in the report to this filter. For each card, open the dropdown menu, and under Flattened metadata, search for the correct field, for example Age category.
  7. Click the Auto Connect pop-up that appears at the bottom to connect all cards in the dashboard to the new filter at once.
  8. Verify that all cards were connected automatically. If a card was skipped, connect it to the metadata field manually.
  9. Save the new filter, then save the report.
